The Iditarod Race

The Iditarod race was started by Joe Redington Sr. in 1973. The race celebrated the trail used to get the serum to Nome to save the citizens with diphtheria in 1926. Since then, it has been an annual race from Anchorage to Nome in Alaska and we now call it the Iditarod. To enter the Iditarod you have to be at least 18 years old and you can have up to 16 dogs.
